OFFICE WAYFINDING

You look lost. These signs have your back.

These office wayfinding signs let you know exactly where you should be for that important meeting.

Role: visual design

Milton Keynes, where the office is located, was home to the Engima code breaking machine during WW2. These signs give a nod to encoded messages from the Enigma machine. The text under the title is the encoded room name, and the dotted pattern mirrors the punched tape used to send encoded messages.

The naming system for the office’s rooms is based on famous venues at Bletchley. The booths were related to the huts, the operations room aligned with Room 47 and the boardroom titled The Mansion.

It was important to keep Aiimi’s brand in mind whilst designing the signs. There needed to be the perfect balance between Bletchley Park and Aiimi. Through a few rounds of refinement and compromise within the design, a solution was achieved.
